Sourdough Pancakes
Makes: 6 small pancakes | Total Time: 15 minutes | Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients

1 cup white flour

1 cup milk (dairy, soy, or almond)

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

1 tbsp sugar

½ tsp salt

½ cup sourdough starter

1 small egg (optional)

1 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions

Whisk together all ingredients in a mixing bowl until smooth and well combined.

Grease a frying pan with butter or your preferred oil and heat over medium to high heat.

Pour approximately ¼ cup of batter into the pan for each pancake.

Cook for about 2 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface. Then flip and cook the other side for another 1–2 minutes until golden.

Serve warm with berries, yogurt, and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.

This is a basic recipe—feel free to experiment with different flours (like wholemeal, buckwheat, or spelt) or add-ins like cinnamon, mashed banana, or blueberries.

The egg is optional and can be left out for a lighter or egg-free version.
